Main Lesson

Roster as a system — three lanes

Open the Partner Roster Planner. Aim for 8–12 names total across:

1. Active (2–4) — people you can message this month with real history or clear mutual interest 2. Warming (3–5) — good fit, thin history; needs one clean fight or a low-pressure hello 3. Prospect (3–5) — researched fit from Battle Hub or niche peers; not contacted yet or waiting on timing

Every name gets: niche/tone tag, timezone or usual hours, last contact, fairness notes, and next action. Empty "vibes only" rows do not count. A roster without next actions is a wishlist.

Fairness norms — write them before you need them

Fill the Fairness Norms Card with non-negotiables you will both honor:

• Promo: matched effort agreed in advance (what each person posts/says)
• Punctuality: show time, buffer, and how cancels work
• Tone: competitive and fun — no harassment, no fake hate, no dunking on either chat
• Asks: enthusiastic and ethical — no guilt gifting, no shaming sit-outs
• After: shout-outs both ways, no shade clips, rematch talk only if both want it

Share norms lightly in outreach ("I run clean competitive fights — happy to align on promo and tone"). Partners who reject basic fairness are data, not drama.

Long-term partner value

Score value on four questions after each fight (or after researching a prospect):

1. Did execution quality rise when we shared a room? 2. Was promo and punctuality reciprocal? 3. Did both audiences seem respected? 4. Would a rematch still make strategic sense in 2–4 weeks?

Bar wins do not answer these. A partner who loses the bar but elevates your hosting and honors norms is high value. A partner who "wins big" with toxic culture is a Capstone liability.

Outreach without desperation

Use the Partner Outreach Script pattern:

1. Specific compliment on *their* hosting or sportsmanship (not their gift totals) 2. Clear ask for a clean competitive battle window 3. Your fairness norms in one sentence 4. Easy out ("totally fine if timing is off")

CM-09 callback: give-first, no recruiting spam, no guilt if they pass. Reputation compounds in DMs the same way it compounds on LIVE.

Reputation hygiene when things fray

• Decline with the warm BT-01 refusal energy — short and bridge-safe
• Document no-shows privately; do not ratio people in public
• End pairings that normalize harassment or guilt tactics — even if they are "big"
• Never invent rivalries to force rematch engagement
