Silence Rescue Card
Short rescue lines and moves for dead air, awkward pauses, and the urge to apologize.
Fill these before you need them. Under silence, improvising rescue language often becomes apology language.
Rescue scripts (keep warm, never self-shaming)
Dead-air rescue (under 10 seconds of pause)
Awkward pause after a question nobody answered
Reset line that returns to the segment
Line I will never say (apology / 'anyone here?')
Physical rescue moves
- Glance at camera (not chat count)
- Change energy one notch up or down on purpose
- Pick up a prop / demo / note card to narrate
- Name the next beat out loud ('Next up…')
